2017 Stonebridge Chardonnay Reserve
2017 Stonebridge Chardonnay Reserve
Made from clone 95 Chardonnay vines of Stonebridge Estate vineyard, the grapes were hand-harvested into small bins, pressed and wild fermented in 33% new French Oak barrels. The low‑intervention and slow fermentation took 12 months to complete. Wine completed its malo‑fermentation at it's own pace during these months as well. This small batch was kept in barrels for a total of 22 months before being bottled and aged another 24 months before their release.
This complex wine has a big nose of citrus and fresh cut yellow apple, with hints of quince, mango and candy aromas supported by a well blended bouquet of spices, pineapple, and plenty of vanilla. The wine has a captivating presence with fresh acidity and rich long finish. Vanilla, lemon and fruit flavours takes their turn to show their contribution to the bouquet.
