2018 Stonebridge Chardonnay Reserve
2018 Stonebridge Chardonnay Reserve
Made from clone 96 Chardonnay vines of Stonebridge Estate vineyard, the grapes were hand-harvested into small bins, pressed and wild fermented in 33% new French Oak barrels. The low‑intervention and slow fermentation took 3 months to complete. Wine completed its malo‑fermentation at it's own pace during these months as well. This small batch was kept in barrels for a total of 18 months before being bottled and aged another 20 months before their release.
Wine has developed a complex nose of citrus and baked yellow apple and hints of quince, and candy aromas supported by well blended bouquet of spices, pineapple, and vanilla. The acidity is less pronounced than the 2017 vintage but still present and fresh supporting a long finish.
